Become a Homestead Member

Whereas a traditional homestead supports a single family, our community homestead model is designed to allow a community of people to participate in farm life and develop a relationship with their food, farming, and nature.

In addition to receiving seasonal food throughout the year. You are invited to be part of the farm in whatever way works for you and your family. Get your hands dirty at work, enjoy the nature of the farm, participate in workshops, or play around the community store.

Farm Access

You will be invited to engage in farm work and develop a relationship with your food. You can also play, hike and explore on the stunning 200 acre farm.

Healthy Produce

At least 15 veggie boxes from our organically-grown garden. Plus invitations to pick your own surplus produce when available.

Pastured Chicken & Farm Fresh Eggs

Receive 6 whole cornish-cross chickens, pasture-raised and organically fed. Also receive 26 dozen eggs from our free-range, organically fed flock.

Join the Community

Find your inner farmer and land steward! Expose your children to farm life and get dirty with the work. Participate in workshops and support the farm from wherever you are.

What is a Community Homestead?

Whereas a traditional homestead supports a single family, our community homestead model is designed to allow a community of people to participate in farm life and develop a relationship with their food, farming, and nature. You are invited to be part of the farm in whatever way works for you and your family. Get your hands dirty at work, enjoy the nature of the farm, participate in workshops, or play around the community store. Some members dig in deep with on farm activity and some members are here less, but want to support the vision and mission of the farm. Whatever your motivation, we appreciate you.

What is involved in a membership? Build Your Own Membership

Step 1. Become a Member ($275)

This part of the membership is a base amount that provides the following for you and the community:

Farm access for recreation and leisure
Pick your own veggie days
Free delivery for the year for online orders
Member events and workshops
On-farm camping
First choice on farm products
Opportunity to develop your own passion projects on the farm!

This is what makes us a community homestead and not a traditional CSA. You're supporting a community and investing to provide to this unique experience for yourself and others.

Step 2: Choose Your Veggie Box - Optional - Select Full ($550), Half ($300), or None ($0)

Fifteen Vegetable boxes will be delivered throughout the season. A full size box should have no problem feeding a family of 4 to 6 people - sometimes they're jam-packed and can feed more. Delivery will run from Mid June until late October. Check out our growing list here.

Step 3: Choose Your Eggs, Chicken, and Meat options

Members have first choice and special offers on Eggs, Chicken, Pork and Beef options. All meat on the farm is pasture raised, grass fed, and when grains are used they are of the highest quality - either organically certified or sourced from Spoke Wheel Farm in Strathroy where regenerative practices are used and are all non-gmo.

Step 4: Participate on your terms!

We have a very diverse membership base. Each members has a unique interest in what is happening on the farm and why we are working this way. Some members get right into the hot, sweaty work of the farm and some take on small projects, and some are simply supporting buying our products. Whatever your passion and reason, we're glad you are coming along for the ride!!

Payments:
Payments can be made in one lump sum or broken up into four equal payments. If you need to explore a different payment schedule, please contact us to discuss. We want you to join us and we can be flexible. E-transfers can be sent to newmoonharvest@gmail.com. Post Dated cheques can be made out to - New Moon Community Homestead
